Effects of Orifice Sizes for Uncontrolled Filling Processes in Water Pipelines

نویسندگان

چکیده

The sizing of air valves during the expulsion phase in rapid filling processes is crucial for design purposes. Mathematical models have been developed to simulate behaviour expulsion, utilising 1D and 2D schemes. These transient events involve presence two fluids with different properties behaviours (water air). effect under scenarios controlled has studied by various authors; however, analysis uncontrolled using not yet considered. In this scenario, water columns reach high velocities, causing part them close valves, which generates an additional peak pocket pressure patterns. research, a two-dimensional computational fluid dynamics model OpenFOAM software situations.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Water-Filling for Watermarking?

In this paper we address the question: Is water-filling appropriate for watermarking? The water-filling paradigm is a traditional solution to the capacity maximization of parallel zero-mean additive white Gaussian channels subject to a signal energy constraint. In this work, we take an information theoretic approach to analyze the watermark communication problem in the presence of perceptual co...

Orifice Coefficients Evaluation for Water Jet Applications

The topic of water jet orifices efficiency and effectiveness evaluation has been considered in this paper. The performed analysis is based on the evaluation of the discharge, velocity and contraction coefficients for different water orifices. In order to overcome the difficulty to measure the water velocity at the orifice exit, which can reach 900 m/s in case of pure water jet applications (wit...

an in vitro comparison of coronal microleakage of three orifice barriers filling materials

introduction: a coronal barrier in root-filled teeth is one of the most effective methods for prevention of coronal microleakage. the aim of this study was to compare coronal microleakage of three materials [light-cured glass-ionomer (gi), mineral trioxide aggregate (mta), and composite resin] as coronal barriers. materials and methods: a total of 188 intact maxillary incisors were used. after ...
